One has a centimetre white line running down the face of my computer, about 4-5cm in from the right margin. It is a bit of a nuisance as it hides a couple of tools, not least accessing my e-mails. As my IT geek is on holiday at the moment am open to suggestions.

Do you have Microsoft Office Toolbar installed?  If so, try turning it on and off, or off and on.  Sometimes it seems to get confused.

Other than that I'm afraid I can't think of anything.

If it's an LCD screen then I'd guess that there is a bad connection between the ribbon cable and LCD.

One of these soft squidgy screens.

It came on at the end of last week, sort of fading for a couple of days. Now it is just blank, so maybe a connection problem. Still under warranty.
