Snap, BG. It would have been delightful to have enjoyed some cuddles this past evening. It's a sad thing when local ladies retire

Tinners - I am delighted your little red robin has come bob-bob-bobbin' along back. Excellent news, and you are right; he was an inconsiderate little bugger, not telling you where he was. Moving on to sadder matters... Wish i was ... BG! That it should come to Tsking you, of all people...but Tsk! "Wish I were..." Five hundred lines of Vergil on my desk on the morrow, please. Writing them will take your mind off baser disappointments.

No sign of the youngster, its greatly missed. Perhaps its away courting? anyhow its Mum was seen today feeding from the hanging cocconut shell fat feeders and looked well as did the Bluetits eating the hanging nut feeders. Think I got ripped of in Morrisons today, bought some Mealworms in a container about the size of half a potnoodle pot and cost £4:99p bloody hell! anyone know of a cheaper outlet?
Tesco do quite a big packet of mealworms for £2.70 and they're two for £5.00 as is all the bird food stuff so you can mix and match! Glad you're little robin came back, I love robins. :cat Sorry couldn't resist it!

The Robin had a bad experience the other day, came home from a shopping trip and could see and hear a Robin in some distress, looked around for that bastard cat, no sign, so opened the back door unloaded car, could hear a Robin going mental, opened the hall door and there it was, sitting on the telephone looking all a fluster, flew into kitchen and sat on worktop then flew down to door step and gave me a right telling off for locking it in! no wonder its partner outside was going nuts, must have walked in for its breakfast and not been spotted, gave it some brown crumbs and off it went and was soon back for more, not sure where the nest is, its not in my old shed where it was born bit next door behind the trees where I hide all my crap that may be usefull one day! somebody did say they heard some chicks but I still can not find the nest. Garden is now the bird equivalent of McDonald's drive through, now have loads of different feeders out, not just for our Robins, down side is we have loads of bastard Starlings, I hate Starlings.......but the good news we now have a greater spotted Woodpecker that feeds from one of our coconut shells that we fill with a mixture of fat, nuts and bits of fruit, it lands on the floor then climbs up the post to feed, Starlings hate it and try to see it off, what a wonderfull looking bird, really lucky, a bit like my Robins.......went shopping for some Hovis this morning and found myself checking the use by date, nothing but the best for my birds!
